How to administer an intravenous infusion using a gravity administration set or a volumetric pump

This module explains how to prepare and administer an intravenous (IV) infusion using a gravity administration (giving) set or a volumetric pump in a safe, effective manner. Nurses undertaking this procedure must ensure they have the knowledge and skills to do so and work within the limits of their competence. The module serves as a revision of best practice in administering IV infusions of fluids and medicines.
