Who is this toolkit for?

This resource is aimed at nurses and nursing support workers across all settings and levels of practice, including students of health, social work and care professions. It also supports assessors and those undertaking the work-related dermatitis health surveillance competency assessment.

What will this toolkit give me?

  • first-hand accounts of living with severe and chronic dermatitis and their journey to healthy hands
  • advice on preventing work-related dermatitis in nursing staff and what safety reps can do to help protect members
  • activity on how to avoid work-related dermatitis and carry out skin checks
  • information on the RCN’s work-related dermatitis health surveillance competency checklist and Skin Disease Competency Frameworks
  • access to a document on glove use and the prevention of work-related dermatitis.
